The Regents, Deans, Chancellors, Maverick, and Faculty scholarship are now ACT optional, and we will be taking a holistic approach to reviewing applications. The holistic approach to scholarship decisions looks at the entire student file. Examples of considered data include coursework, rigor, and grades. These are not the only factors, as we look at multiple data points to understand the context of education of the students in the admitted pool. We will continue to provide assistance to keep UNO as one of the most affordable institutions in the region.
The General Scholarship Application allows students to be considered for several scholarships that are college/major-specific. Students can apply via MavLink, and the due date for the General Scholarship Application is February 1, 2021.
The Summer Scholars Program is a college preparation program for juniors in high school. Selected students will participate in leadership building, career exploration, take a UNO college academic course (three credits) from June 1 through July 2, 2020, and experience college life by living on UNO’s campus residence hall for a five-day stay. There is no cost to the student if selected to participate in the Summer Scholars Program. Tuition, fees, books, parking permits, etc., will be covered. This is a great opportunity! To qualify, students must be juniors (when applying) and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 grading scale. Any and all students who are juniors in high school and have a minimum 2.75 GPA can apply. Please visit UNO Summer Scholars Program to apply.
The deadline for students to complete their FAFSA and considered for Nebraska Promise is April 1, 2021. Nebraska Promise is not a single scholarship but includes all federal grants and university scholarships. The Nebraska Promise is a promise that these programs combined will cover a student's tuition each semester for up to 15 credit hours. Students can reach out to financial aid for eligibility questions.
