Please consider joining us this summer for our annual Foundation Golf Event June 21 at 1 PM at Tregaron Golf Course in Bellevue.  This year's event will include golf, cart, LUNCH, raffle prizes, flag prizes, STEAK DINNER following and a 55" Grand Prize Flat Screen TV.  It is a great event and parents are invted to participate!

The other event to consider participating in is the Foundation Dinner/Auction on July 12th at Millard Social Hall.  There are great items up for auction and lots of good times.

The district held our facility improvements meeting #2 at Springfield Elementary on April 18 at 7 PM.  The information shared included enrollment history, current tax levy information, possible bond rates if we were to go out for Bond within the next year, and identified needs for facilities at each site in the district.  The information can be accessed by clicking on a link below.  We hope to see you at the next facility improvement meeting May 2 at 7 PM at Westmont Elementary.

Springfield Platteview Community Schools recently completed our first meeting with parents and the community to discuss the need for facility improvements district-wide.  The meeting was held at Platteview High School on Thursday, April 18 at 7 PM.  The district laid out the process for parent and community input and getting facility information out to interested parents and community members.  Mr. Pat Phalen, from the DLR Group, presented the process for facility audits and assessments as a first step and took questions from the public on facility issues.  Click Here for his PowerPoint presentation during the meeting.  More...

 On Saturday, April 27th the Boys' Track team captured their first Conference Championship in the Nebraska Capitol Conference.  The team gave great effort and practiced a total team approach by making each event count!

The Platteview High School Math Department sponsored 4 teams in the Iowa Western Community College. 

The Freshmen team went 3-2 winning the first two matches - finished 7th out of 29 teams
Members are Jared Bartels, Alex Engberg, Kevin Ingram, Kate Scanlan

The Sophomore team went 6-1 winning their bracket of 29 teams! Started 5-0, lost a close match in the finals; but since that was their first loss, they had one more match, which we won.  After that win, the team squared off against Millard South's number one team for the all class trophy. Platteview won the first match, but lost the next two matches.

Junior team went 0-2 losing a tough one 0-1 in their opener and then lost to our senior team 0-2.

Senior team went 1-2 losing a close opener 1-2, beating the junior team, and then lost 0-1 in an elimination match.
Members are Robbie Achenbach, Jessica Bargstadt, Shelby Thayer, and Abbie Scholting

Platteview High School student Breanna Terry received the 2013 Nebraska NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing at a recognition ceremony at UNO’s Peter Kiewit Institute this month.  The award, sponsored by Microsoft, Motorola Solutions Foundation, and the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT), recognizes young high school women for their computing-related achievements and interests as part of an effort to encourage more young women to choose careers in technology.

A total of eight award-winners and four runners up were selected from high schools across the Nebraska for their outstanding aptitude and interest in information technology and computing, solid leadership ability, good academic history, and plans for post-secondary education. 

“Platteview High School is proud that one of its own students received this prestigious award,” Counselor John Stanton commented about Breanna’s recognition. “It reflects well on her family, school and community.  Breanna has taken advantage of technology academy opportunities at UNO and will continue IT pursuits at UNO in the fall.”
